LIVE VIDEOS

Videos produced from live shoots capturing the energy, spontaneity and interaction of performing for an audience

Transatlantic Rumours - The Chain - Live at The Wylam Brewery

Alex Hithcock Quintet - Happy Ending - Live at London Jazz Festival - This shoot captured the quintets powerful live performance at The Green Note for the London Jazz Festival. The video is both a document of the performance and an interaction with Hitchcocks dynamic and contrasting music. It uses creative editing and manipulation of images to interact with the music and it's performance.

Steam - Kissing My Love - Live at Good Evening at The Royal Albert - To capture the raw energy and vibrant atmosphere of this live performance this video was shot on a single take in a single camera, making for an immersive and authentic viewer experience and minimising the footprint and impact of the shoot on the event.

STUDIO VIDEOS

Videos featuring artists in the studio, often capturing and working alongside the recording of tracks for single or album release

Matt Holborn's Learn to Draw - Learn to Draw - Live at Lightship Studios' - Immersing the viewer in Holborn’s music, this video reflects it’s crescendo from intimate opening to driving bass solo and the interplay of the musicians throughout. To work with the recording process, and minimise the impact of the video recording on the session, it weaves a picture of the band as a whole from multiple angles, keeping the shots intimate, the cameras out of shot.

James Copus - From The Source - Live at Livingston Studios - Inside the recording of Copus’s epic, this video charts it’s journey, binding together musicians spread across the studio, exploring intricate details of the performance, and building with the snowballing intensity of the music.

Alex Hitchcock - One - Live at Konk Studios

THEATRICAL VIDEOS

Music videos variously featuring and combining staged performances, reworked performance footage, narrative elements and conceptual imagery.

Kitchman / Schmidt - “Lowlands” Music Video - The minimalism of this video emphasises the subtle drama of the performance and reflects the isolation of the songs protagonist. Like the artists it features, it reimagines the themes of the original material from a contemporary perspective using modern tools.

Natty Congeroo & The Flames of Rhythm - King Cutter - This narrative music video projects the music and character of the band, especially front man Natty Congeroo, and is intended both to excite existing audiences and reach out to new ones. The concept devised by the band was co-operatively developed, the shoot co-directed and the production realised with a small team.

Natty Congeroo & The Flames of Rhythm - Swing Cats Ball - This video sets images from a spectacular live performance against a studio recording. The immersive setting embodies the themes of the song. The edit is grounded by the developing narrative, believable matching of performance visuals to the music and punctuation's of spectacle, whilst dynamism comes from movement, fast cutting.

Binker Golding and Moses Boyd / Dem Ones - A promotional film to support the duos EP launch performance, shot in three hours in a small rehearsal studio. Lighting was used to make the walls 'disappear', and montage overlay editing employed to abstract the visual, in keeping with the music's journey.
